Since the development of photography artists had to re-visit the purpose of realisting painting. The impressionists came up with a new way of depicting what they saw. The artists did not paint exactly what they saw, but an impression of what they saw. Impressionists went out into the world and painted instantly he impression that was left on their eye. The painting Women in he garden, painted by Claude Monet an impressionist. The painting shows four women enjoying their time in the garden without he awareness of the painter. The painting shows very little detail and of the people who is in the painting. The painting shows the effectiveness of light. The sunlight penetrating through the trees to intricate shadows. The visiablity of light bouncing of the women's dresses. In this painting Monet shows the action of natural light.

In Doyle's work it shows the effects of light that shine on the bottles. There isn't any detail in the picture. He has just painted ordinary things that might have reminded him of autumn.
